Eagle-Eye Cherry UK Shows

Eagle-Eye Cherry announces first UK and Ireland shows in more than 20 years…

Swedish singer-songwriter Eagle-Eye Cherry, best known for his global smash hit “Save Tonight”, returns to the UK & Ireland for shows in May – London, Glasgow, Sheffield and Dublin.

It was in 1997 that Eagle-Eye first began writing his debut album “Desireless” in his bedroom in Stockholm, with just an acoustic guitar and a handful of ideas.

What emerged was a phenomenally successful album that peaked at number three in the UK charts, and has sold four million copies worldwide.

“Desireless” featured two top 10 UK singles, “Falling In Love Again” (98) and “Save Tonight” (97), that for a while dominated worldwide airwaves on their release. “Save Tonight” was a chart hit in 10 countries – # 5 in the US.

“Many ask if it’s a burden to have such a famous song… I really see it as ‘a good problem.’ I’m convinced I would have liked it even if someone else wrote it,” says Eagle-Eye.

Eventually, the pace of touring, promoting and recording took its toll on Eagle-Eye. “I got a little lost, felt a lot of pressure. I guess I was close to burning out.” Today Eagle-Eye is better at balancing the artistry and his extensive European tours with his second love of acting.

Recently, after falling in love with the city of Nashville, he released the album “Streets of You” in 2018, a collection of personal country-tinged pop songs, with the same infectious choruses that first brought him to the world’s attention.

The son of jazz legend Don Cherry and half-brother of singer Neneh Cherry, 50-year-old Eagle-Eye Cherry’s live shows will feature some of the best tracks from”Streets of You”, as well as all of his hits.

He’s already fired up to hit the road: “It’s been way too long since I played the UK & Ireland! But now I’m back on the road, and I can’t wait to see y’all face to face.”
