US blues stars The Billy Walton Band are back on these shores for a 10-date UK tour, which kicks off in Poynton, Cheshire on Thursday 19th January and closes in Southampton on 28th.
Promoting their sizzling brand-new album “Soul Of A Man” on the respected US-based Vizztone label, available digitally and on CD everywhere from 12th January. The New Jersey-based band have a growing following in the UK after many previous successful tours and albums across the last decade.
Their horn-soaked sound takes us on a journey covering the American rock n blues landscape. With his incendiary and tasteful guitar licks, Billy shuffles off to Chicago, picks up the horns in Detroit and makes his way down to New Orleans for some groove-fuelled gumbo. All with that unmistakable “in your face” rock and roll flavour of Asbury Park.
If you dig the blues, rock and roll, R&B, soul and the likes of Asbury Park’s favourite sons Bruce Springsteen & Southside Johnny, strap in for the ride of your life with this uber-exciting six-piece, The Billy Walton Band.
In 2010, Billy got the call to join Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes. For years Billy toured with the Jukes as their guitarist. A highpoint in Billy’s tenure with the Jukes, was when they recorded with the legendary Little Steven.
European audiences have welcomed Billy and the boys for 15 tours since 2008, and if you can get hold of a ticket for one of their imminent (and very likely to sell out) 10 shows on this latest tour in January 2018, there’ll be absolutely no explanation needed as to why they keep being invited back time and time again.
Forget Brexit, turn off the constant doom and gloom news from Mr Trump and “rocket man” Kim Jong-un, leave your mobile ‘phone at home for the night and go party with The Billy Walton Band! An essential remedy to combat the winter blues……..
