Sarah Jarosz 2017 UK Tour

Following a recent sold-out show at London’s Union Chapel, the first in a run of UK dates in support of her acclaimed Sugarhill Records release Undercurrent, Sarah Jarosz has announced new UK and Ireland tour dates for January and February 2017:

Jan 22 • Celtic Connections @ City Halls • Glasgow

Jan 24 • The White Horse • Ballincollig

Jan 25 • Tradfest • Dublin

Jan 26 • First Presbyterian Church • Belfast

Jan 28 • Royal Concert Hall • Glasgow

Jan 29 • Mareel • Shetland

Jan 31 • The Brudenell • Leeds

Feb 1 • St Barnabas Church • Oxford

Feb 2 • Clifton Cathedral • Bristol

Feb 3 * St Mary’s Church * Guildford

Feb 4 • Gulbenkian Theater • Canterbury

Undercurrent is different from Jarosz’s previous records. While her three earlier albums built on her reputation as an instrumentalist who could also sing and write, Undercurrent places the focus on the all-original songs. The album accentuates the growth and maturity Jarosz, now 25, has achieved since graduating from New England Conservatory and moving to New York.

While the focus of 2016 was primarily on touring as a trio with Jedd Hughes and Jeff Picker, Jarosz found time for other important collaborations—joining Garrison Keillor on a two-week A Prairie Home Companion Alaska tour, joining her bandmates in I’m With Her — Sara Watkins and Aoife O’Donovan — at a few special events, including the benefit, “Tribute to the Music of Linda Ronstadt” for the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.

She has some VIP fans. “Last night in Atlanta I saw one of the best concerts I have ever seen. Parker Millsap and Sarah Jarosz. Both were astonishingly good. And their respective musicians too. It restored my faith in music. Bravo to you both.” – Sir Elton John

* Jarosz also recently premiered the acoustic video for “Green Lights.” Shot in the Berkeley Hills, the video features Jarosz’s trio. You can see it in our Video Zone.
